COPE Metaphorical Maps for Overcoming Crisis Situations and Treating Emotional Trauma The COPE cards were created based on effective global experience in applying metaphorical associative cards in therapeutic practice for overcoming crisis situations and trauma. The authors deliberately do not use screaming newspaper images of wars, terrorist attacks, violence, or disasters on the cards. Such pictures, constantly flashing on TV screens and in newspaper pages, have firmly taken root in our collective consciousness, and any reminder of them could only exacerbate the trauma. Therefore, the COPE cards depict traumatic events and emotional reactions to them in a symbolic and metaphorical way. At the same time, the cards offer symbols and images of relief, calming, confidence, and healing. The set consists of 88 picture cards for overcoming crisis situations and treating emotional trauma. By theme of the drawings and purpose, the COPE deck cards can be divided into two groups. The first is intended for diagnosis and contains 82 cards that symbolically depict various traumatic and stressful circumstances and situations.
